Wildfire is the last track of the Strato(sphere) volume. Wildfire is a song about the dystopian future that lies ahead and the possibilities of how we continue to edge towards an Armageddon. It’s sung from the perspective of being the last person left alone in a world that is crumbling but being too late to save it. We always feel so blind to our own destruction and this song presents the possibilities if we constantly let the toxic pieces of history repeat themselves. It’s terrifying that our world ending in fire and brimstone feels so possible and how could you not? All we hear about is the end and not of how we could begin a new way of living. I always feel that heaviness and I wanted a song that represented those emotions in a visual way. -Josh Written and performed by Hands Like Houses Additional music and production by Callan Orr Additional writing by Ben Woolner Produced by Callan Orr Vocal Engineered By Ben Woolner Engineered, Mixed and Mastered by Callan Orr at Avalanche Studios Lyrics: This sea of silence, is getting way too loud The cold inside my head, has all the voices washing out. Feel something stranger, and all I taste is rust There’s nothing left but light, it’s slowly fading out. I close my eyes again, Cause this feels like a burning, fallout Walk in to a wildfire Burning, blackout Walk in to a wildfire I’m fighting through it These acid clouds of blue My eyes are full of dust and bitterness Why can’t we see it We’re poison to ourselves The rubble left behind, is that how we remember us? As ashes fall around us We bury what we once loved We once loved
